Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots are Back!

On July 12, 2010, in Robot Toys, by admin

  • This is a classic game from 1966 in which the battling robots try to knock each other’s blocks off
  • Red Rocker and Blue Bomber battle it with cool sounds and lots of action
  • When one robot gets in a blockbuster punch, the victorious robot’s head pops up with that patented Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em sound
  • Complete with robots and an arena
  • A true classic!

This classic Mattel game from 1996 brings back Red Rocker and Blue Bomber to battle it out in the arena, all with nicely non-realistic sounds. The arena measures 14. 5″L x 10″W x 5. 5″H.

Before Transformers where invented there were these two plastic boxers. They battle it out in a ring, tirelessly jabbing at each other in an effort to knock their opponent’s parts off. Their “real names” are Red Rocker and Blue Bomber, but they are probably more often referred to as “the blue one” and “the red one”. The best part is that they’re controlled by YOU and a friend with simple controllers. Just like back in 1966, it takes a while to learn how to maneuver the robots and time your punches, let alone land that knockout blow. But for some silly robot fighting (and without needing batteries) these champs can still deliver.
